Youtube Plans to Share Money With You!
YouTube is looking at a new way to cash in on the 70,000,000 million users per month that stream their videos. They will soon insert ads at the begining of some videos and share the revenue with the creators of the video. I'm not sure what the percentage is, but it's something. As long as you own the material, you're entitled to a cut. In a way, YouTube will be rewarding creativity.
At first glance, I was concerned. Placing ads in unwanted places doesn't sound that cool. But, YouTube is owned by Google. Those guys know a thing or two about placing the right ads at the right time. They make Billions doing it. They are also good at keeping it simple. If there's a right way to place ads on YouTube and reward users, Google will find it.
This is a great time to be you. You were just awarded the prestigious title of Person of the Year by Time Magazine, Advertising Age named you agency of the year, and your even making Super Bowl commercials now. It only makes sense that YouTube is divising a scheme to share ad revenue with you. After all, they did name their tube after you.
