Man Thong, Rolling Rock

Oh Goodby! This ad by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners reminds me of Miller Lite ads. The difference is that instead of women in thongs, this ad features men in thongs. It also pokes fun at European beachwear, and for some reason the ad works. It’s not the best branding piece. It’s a bit crude for the Rolling Rock brand in my opinion. It is memorable and worth talking about. I even can’t remember the last time I thought about Rolling Rock, which is why it works for me. Good for the short term. It’s much of a brand builder, but that’s O.K. becuase it’s funny in South Park sort of way.(view video)

Unfortunately the video has been removed, but I'd love to see some men in thongs. More men should wear thongs if you ask me!
